iPhone Repair from Bang Tao — How Not to Make the Ride Twice

Let's be straight about the geography. Bang Tao to our Patong bench is 25–35 minutes each way, and closer to 45 in a downpour or when the hill is backed up. That's an hour of your day before a single screw is turned. It is absolutely worth it for a cracked screen or a dead battery — on one condition: that you only do it once.

📍 25–35 min each way — honestly
📦 Part confirmed before you leave
💸 No deposit to hold a part
30–60 min on the bench
🛡️ 90-day warranty

Three reasons people end up doing this drive twice

We would rather lose a job than have someone ride 35 minutes for nothing. Every wasted trip we have ever heard about comes down to one of these three, and all three are fixable with a message sent before you order a car.

📦

The part wasn't there

Current models are on the shelf. Older, rarer and Plus/Max sizes aren't always. Tell us the exact model and we'll say honestly whether it's in stock or a next-morning order.

☁️

It wasn't backed up

A screen swap won't touch your data. But if the phone turns out to need board work, it stays with us — and you'll be back in Bang Tao wishing you'd spent ten minutes on hotel Wi-Fi first.

💧

It wasn't a screen job

Liquid damage runs on chemistry, not a stopwatch. Clean, dry, test — usually overnight. Know that before you get in the car, not after you've arrived expecting to wait.

Send these four things and the trip only happens once

One message on the contact page, thirty seconds, and we can tell you the price, the bench time, and whether the part for your model is physically here right now:

  1. The exact model. Not "an iPhone" — iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone SE. Screen part availability is entirely model-specific and this is the single biggest cause of a second trip.
  2. What happened, and when. "Dropped on tile, glass cracked, screen still works" is a different job to "went in the pool on Tuesday, we've been charging it since". The second one is a different price, a different timeline, and a different set of odds.
  3. A photo of the damage. Take it on another phone. Crack patterns tell us a lot — whether the digitiser is likely gone, whether the frame took the impact, whether the back glass went too.
  4. When you can travel, and whether you'll wait. If you're coming at 4pm and waiting, we'll have the part out on the bench before you arrive.

There is no deposit and no booking fee for any of this. We are not holding your part hostage — we are just trying to stop you driving an hour for nothing.

The one job that can't be done while you wait

If your iPhone has been in the pool or the sea, plan to drop it off, not to wait for it. Liquid repair means disassembly, an ultrasonic clean, a controlled dry and then testing — normally overnight, and quoted once we have seen the board. Before you travel: power it off, leave it off, dry the outside, and do not plug it in to charge. Charging a wet phone is what actually kills most of them. Full sequence on the water damage page.

What breaks at Bang Tao

Bang Tao is one of the largest resort stretches on the island — a long, open beach backed by big hotels, beach clubs and residences. The repair list reflects that mix precisely.

Resort pool water is the most common single cause. Kids, inflatables, poolside cocktails and phones that were only ever going to survive one of those three. Chlorinated pool water is less destructive than sea water, but it still corrodes a logic board over days — which matters, because pool phones tend to get "dried out" and used for a week before anyone accepts something is wrong.

Beach club sand is the sneaky one. Fine sand packs into the Lightning or USB-C port until the cable no longer seats, and people conclude the phone is dying and start shopping for a new one. Very often it is a battery issue or simply a port that needs professionally clearing — and sometimes a clean is all it takes, with no part needed at all. It is worth checking before you assume the worst.

Cracked screens arrive from sunbeds, poolside tile and beach-club decking. Standard job: 30–60 minutes on the bench, priced for your exact model before we start, 90-day warranty. See the screen repair page for what the different parts grades actually mean.

What to wait for, and what to drop off

Repair Bench time Worth waiting for?
Screen replacement 30–60 min Yes — wait for it
Battery replacement 20–40 min Yes — wait for it
Charging port / sand 30–60 min Yes — wait for it
Pool or sea water damage Usually overnight No — drop it off
Data recovery Case by case No — drop it off

There is no distance surcharge and no deposit. We look at the phone, write down one fixed price, and you decide — say no and you pay nothing and ride home with it. The repair estimator starts that off in about thirty seconds: do it before you order a car, not after.

Before you make the trip

For a cracked screen or a dying battery, yes — those are 30–60 minute jobs with a fixed price and a 90-day warranty, and a broken phone otherwise sours the rest of the trip. For a charging port simply packed with beach sand, it can be quicker and cheaper than you fear. For a phone that's been in the pool, know before you set off that liquid damage can't be rushed and the device will normally stay overnight — so plan to drop it off, not to wait.
Ask us. Send the exact model — iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone SE, whatever it is — and we'll tell you honestly whether that part is on the shelf right now or whether it's a next-morning order. Current models are stocked; rarer and older ones aren't always. That one message is the difference between one trip and two, and it costs nothing.
Waiting is realistic for screens (30–60 min) and batteries (20–40 min), and given the ride, most Bang Tao customers do exactly that rather than driving back and forth twice. If you'd rather not sit in a workshop, hand the device over and use the time — Patong is the closest place to Bang Tao with real shops, a big supermarket and a proper choice of food.
No. No deposit, no booking fee, no charge to set a part aside. Tell us the model and roughly when you're coming, and it will be there. If we can't get the part, we tell you before you get in the car — not after a 35-minute drive.
Usually not, and it's better to know now. Liquid damage needs disassembly, an ultrasonic clean, a proper dry and then testing — chemistry, not a stopwatch. Expect it to stay overnight, sometimes longer; repairs are quoted once the phone is open and we can see the board. Before you travel: power it off, leave it off, dry the outside, and don't plug it in to charge — that's what actually kills most pool-damaged phones.
No. The quote is the same whether you walked in from the end of the street in Patong or rode 35 minutes from Bang Tao. Price depends on the model and the parts grade you choose — never on the postcode of your hotel. Same 90-day warranty either way.

Message us before you get in the car.
