Patong breaks phones in four specific ways

Patong packs a whole holiday's worth of risk into about a square kilometre of beach, bars and tiled hotel bathrooms. After enough repairs you stop being surprised. The same four faults come through the door, roughly in this order.

1. The night-out drop. A phone leaves a hand or a bar stool on or around Bangla Road and meets tile, kerb or road. Sometimes the glass spiderwebs and everything still works. Sometimes the glass looks survivable but the display underneath shows green or vertical lines, or the touch layer stops responding in one strip. All three are the same fix: a screen replacement. What "same day" honestly means

We open it, tell you what the board actually looks like, and quote a fixed price for the clean-up before we touch it — which is a far better ending than a dead logic board.

Nine times out of ten it is compacted sand and pocket lint packed into the charging port, not a broken port. Do not poke it with a pin or a paperclip, because bending the contact pins turns a simple cleaning job into a real repair. We inspect and clear the port under magnification first, and only quote a port replacement if the port itself is genuinely damaged — and you see that price in writing before we act on it.
